15 years ago when my daughter was a baby, all of her hair fell out because she got eczema on her scalp.

As a mother, I felt like a failure - and made myself responsible for this happening to my baby.

When we went out in public, I always put hats on my daughter because I didn’t want anyone to see her bald spots.

Close friends and family told me this was God’s plans for us - and at the time I didn’t understand or agree.

Why would God take my baby's hair? What did we do to deserve this?

All of the products that promised to regrow hair were loaded with toxic chemicals and hormones. 

Stuff I would never think of putting on myself - forget about putting it on my baby girl.

One look at the ingredients label and you’d find about a dozen things that can’t even be pronounced.

All toxic stuff that was later linked to cancer and fibroids - every day I thank God I didn’t use these products.

I was desperate for a solution to my baby’s balding, but not desperate enough to risk poisoning her.

I was devastated.

Everyone knows textured hair is different - in every way.

Look, style, maintenance - even the genetics, down to how our roots are shaped.

But not a single product was made for us.

I felt helpless, but I knew I had to figure something out.

So I started my journey.

For two years I researched ingredients and what they do.

If it wasn’t a plant, I didn’t want anything to do with it.

I would have never created my hair regrowth serum if this nightmare didn’t happen to us.

God works in mysterious ways sometimes.

This was just supposed to be a small cash business to help put my daughter through college.

I never wanted to sell my hair regrowth serum, especially because I didn’t really like the idea of “taking money” from people.

But people would message me begging for help almost every day, and that was when I knew this was God’s plan for me.

It took 10 years for me to understand.

I loved my career as a celebrity fashion stylist, I didn’t want to start a business.

But I eventually realized it was my purpose to empower black women who were losing their hair.
